By using BuilderCheck (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service.
BuilderCheck provides a verified contractor directory for homeowners. We verify contractors against state licensing boards, insurance certificates, and public records. We do not employ contractors, guarantee their work, or warranty their services.
You must be at least 18 years old to use BuilderCheck.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.
Contractors are responsible for the accuracy of information on their profiles. BuilderCheck verifies state-issued licenses and insurance documents but does not verify all claims a contractor may make. Hire at your own discretion.
You retain ownership of reviews and content you submit. By submitting content, you grant BuilderCheck a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to publish and display that content within the Service.
You agree NOT to submit defamatory, threatening, false, or unlawful content. We reserve the right to remove content at our discretion.
Verification passes are sold via Stripe. Passes are 30-day, one-time payments — no subscription, no auto-renewal. Refunds are evaluated case-by-case via info@oakangel.com.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. BUILDERCHECK DOES NOT GUARANTEE WORK PERFORMED BY ANY LISTED CONTRACTOR. HOMEOWNERS ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR EVALUATING AND HIRING CONTRACTORS.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BuilderCheck shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
You may close your account anytime via Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, USA.
